All Children’s Program Lessons at Central for the remainder of the 2016-2017 season.
This includes KB Cruisers, BridgeBusters, BoardBusters, GateBusters, Extreme Team, and Skills Quest lessons.


Children’s Programs

Our Children’s Coaches provide your child time-tested and progressive lessons, from First Time Skier and Rider lessons to Advanced Mountain classes in a Safe, FUN and Energetic environment.  Many of our Children’s Instructors hold Children’s Specialist credentials from PSIA-E and AASI.  All of them have the special passion for teaching children, understand your child’s needs and foster and challenge their skills development through games and FUN on the slopes.

KB Cruisers

Our signature program for the junior skier or snowboarder in your family age 4-12 years. Sessions are 2-hours long and are taught by our highly energetic and creative children’s coaches.  Our main goal is to provide your child with personal on-snow training in a safe, FUN environment.  Whether your child is enjoying his or her “First Time” experience or are active all mountain skiers or riders – our instructors are ready to help them enjoy our slopes at Kissing Bridge.  Each session includes a group lesson, warm up break, beginner hill lift ticket and lots of FUN and camaraderie on the slopes.  Our goal is for your child to ask, “When are we coming back?”

KB Cruiser Lesson Prices

  • Single Session: $60.
  • Single Session & Junior Rental: $80.
  • Card for 8 sessions – transferrable! $455.

KB Mountain Cruisers

This program is designed for the more advanced junior skier or snowboarder in your family who can turn to the left and turn to the right, stop on command, ride all lifts and is registered in our Mountain, Mountain with Poles, or Advanced Mountain level of skiers or snowboarders in KB Cruisers.  Our creative coaches will improve your child’s mountain skills and built confidence through FUN structured lessons and lots of “mileage” on the slopes.

KB Mountain Cruisers program includes a 2-hour KB Cruisers group lesson on the mountain, warm up break and a 2-hour all area lift ticket after the lesson – this is the perfect opportunity to ski or ride as a family and encourage those skills learned in their lesson.

Students in Mountain, Mountain with Poles or Advanced Mountain classes may ride the chairlift with other students in their class or members of the skiing/riding public.

Notes to Parents:

  • All KB Cruiser lessons will be at Central for the remainder of the 2016-2017 season.
  • Please register your children one hour prior to your desired lesson time.
  • All coaches are available at the end of each session to discuss the progress of your child.
  • The North Area has its own Children’s Center facility, which is easily accessible as you enter the stairway from the North parking lot or at the “Drop-Off” point located at the Turn Around.
  • Registration at the Central Area is at the Ticket Center counter, registration at the North Area is in the Children’s Center.  If the North Area is closed, lessons will be held at the Central Area.
  • Children in our Children’s programs must be able and willing to ski in a group of kids and be able to interact with other children in a safe manner.
  • All children in our programs must be able to understand and follow directions provided to them by the instructors assigned to their class.
  • Please notify us at time of registration if your child has any allergies or health problems that might warrant our attention (with some health problems, your child may be directed to participate in another of our programs).

Private Lessons for Children

Our experienced team of Children’s Instructors offer private lessons for aspiring skiers and riders at our North Area at 12:00pm and 3:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Interested skiers should sign up for a children’s private lesson in the Children’s Center in the North Area.

Season Long Programs

BridgeBusters, BoardBusters, Extreme Team, GateBusters, and All Season Advanced Mountain Cruisers.

Consecutive 8-week programs for the junior skier or rider in your family who has mastered the basics of mountain skiing or riding.

All season long programs include:

  • Season Pass!
  • BONUS! Christmas Camp* (Dec. 27, 28, & 29 2016 from 9:00am-12:00pm)
  • 8 two hour coaching sessions beginning January 7 or 8, 2017
  • “Fun” Race – Saturday January 28, 2017 (Registration begins at 8:30am in the North Lodge)
  • “Family Fun Race & Picnic” – Saturday March 4, 2017 (Registration begins at 8:30am in the North Lodge)
  • BONUS! “Try another program Fun Day” – Sunday March 5, 2017 9am-12noon (Work out with Extreme Team, BoardBusters, GateBusters, Skills Quest, or Jr. Race Team)
  • All programs will be held in the North Area. If the North Area is closed, programs will be held at the Central Area.
  • *Christmas Camp will not be made up should Kissing Bridge be closed due to weather.

BridgeBusters

Get Ready to Move!!  For the junior skier or rider in your family who has mastered the basics of mountain skiing or riding.  All students must demonstrate that they can turn to the left and right, control their speed, are excited to negotiate more challenging terrain and are confident riding all lifts independently.  Coached by highly motivated and skilled instructors, your child will progress in an environment that challenges the group on varied terrain as well as build strong camaraderie with their coach and other students within the group.

  • Children must be 6 years or older to participate
  • Groups are formed on the ability levels of each student from strong wedge turns to parallel skiers or falling leaf to terrain park snowboarders.
  • Coaches will be with the same group of students for the entire season, allowing for progressive lesson planning to build on skills acquired in previous weeks.
  • Sessions in the terrain parks and gates included in this program.
  • BridgeBusters Tuition:  1 session $575.  Additional session $70.
  • Lessons begin and end in the North Area.  If the North Area is closed, lessons will be held at Central.

BoardBusters

Season-long program for the advanced junior snowboarder.  “All Mountain” Adventure includes Terrain Park, moguls, and riding skills development.

  • Children must be 8 years or older to participate
  • Included in this program are sessions on the Big Air Bag as well as a Big Air Bag Season Pass!
  • Students must demonstrate Advanced Riding Skills to participate in this program.
  • Helmets are encouraged.
  • BoardBuster Tuition: $600.
  • Lessons begin and end in the North Area. If the North Area is closed, lessons will be held at Central.

Extreme Team

Geared toward more advanced skiers, your child will experience the “Extremes” at Kissing Bridge and prepare them for the “Extremes” at other resorts.  Coached by highly motivated and skilled instructors this program will motivate your child skiing in the moguls, terrain parks, glades, and black diamond slopes.  Let’s hope we get a “big dump” because skiers in this group will learn to navigate through the deepest of powder!

  • Advanced Skiers Only
  • Children must be 8 years or older to participate
  • Included in this program are sessions on the Big Air Bag as well as a Big Air Bag Season Pass!
  • Strong emphasis will be placed on terrain park safety and “Smart Style” terrain park etiquette.
  • Students must demonstrate Advanced Skiing Skills to participate in this program.
  • Helmets are encouraged.
  • Extreme Team Tuition: $600.  Additional session $75.
  • Lessons begin and end in the North Area.  If the North Area is closed, lessons will be held at Central.

GateBusters

Geared toward the junior skier in your family who wants to “run gates”.  This season-long program is designed to provide a friendly introduction to youth ski racing as well as those skills needed to challenge the mountain under a variety of conditions.  GateBusters train with the Junior Race Team.

  • Skiers Only
  • Children must be 6 years or older to participate
  • Helmets are required.
  • GateBuster Tuition: $600.  Additional session $75.
  • Lessons begin and end in the North Area.  If the North Area is closed, lessons will be held at Central.

All Season Advanced Mountain Cruisers

Have a kid that is ready for intense all-mountain skiing, but is unable to commit to a regular season long lesson time? We understand busy schedules and have a great new program that is just what you are looking for!  New for the 2016 season we are introducing a Season-long Advanced Mountain Cruiser program.  Experienced instructors will work with your children in learning how to ski everything that the mountain has available to them including bumps, trees, steeps, terrain parks, and anything else we can find to challenge your child.  Come with a full stomach, because we are going to make you work hard in this program!

  • Skiers or Boarders
  • Season Pass included with the program.
  • 10 two-hour group lesson sessions that can be used anytime we are offering KB Cruiser lessons
  • Warm up break included during each two-hour session
  • Children must be able to load a chair on their own, use poles, and be capable of moving independently around the mountain.
  • Students in Advanced Mountain classes may ride the chairlift with other students in their class or members of the skiing/riding public.
  • Please register your children one hour prior to your desired lesson time.
  • All coaches are available at the end of each session to discuss the progress of your child.
  • Tuition: $575.
  • Lessons begin and end in the North Area.  If the North Area is closed, lessons will be held at Central.
  • Advanced Mountain Cruiser Lessons available anytime KB Cruiser Lessons are offered.  Please refer to our KB Cruiser Schedule above for more information on lesson times.

Notes to parents of children in season long programs:

  • Every student is required to have his/her picture taken before the season begins. His/Her season pass will allow them to attend their chosen session/sessions and use all lifts. Program and session number will be on the front of the Season Pass. Coaches will verify your participation in the program by this pass. The Season Pass can be used at any time.
  • Students enrolled in the Extreme Team (skiers only) or BoardBusters (snowboarders only) must show advanced skiing or riding skills.In some instances, students may be moved to a different group should their skiing/riding ability not meet the advanced criteria.
  • Consider enrolling your child in two sessions of BridgeBusters or mix and match with one session of Extreme Team or GateBusters. (additional sessions are available at a significantly discounted price)
  • Students in these programs generally ski or ride all areas of Kissing Bridge and may stop at the Central lodge for their break. You may want to put a snack in one of their pockets or give them some money to buy a warm up snack.
  • Unless specified above, helmets are a personal choice and not required for participation in any lesson programs.
  • Children in GateBusters, BoardBusters, BridgeBusters, and Extreme Team must have the ability to load and unload the chairlift, be able to pull down the safety bar, and be able to push the safety bar up without assistance.
  • Children in Season Long programs may ride lifts with other members of their group, members of the skiing/riding public, Kissing Bridge Staff or by themselves. For more information on lift safety as it pertains to families and children, please refer to www.kidsonlifts.org

  • Make-up sessions are not available for BridgeBusters, BoardBusters, GateBusters, or Extreme Team as groups are formed with the ability of the students in each session and sessions vary in ability levels. If you are unable to attend your chosen session on a given weekend, the only make-up option for the student is to be included in the KB Cruisers Advanced Mountain program at a session the same weekend as you are missing. Camps

This is the perfect opportunity to discover our Children’s Programs or for out of town guests to ski or ride with cousins or friends over the Christmas Holiday!  Explore our hills and develop skills and tactics while skiing or riding with our energized coaches and meeting new friends!

Christmas Camp

  • December 27 – 29: 9:00-12:00 – North Area (if open, otherwise Central Area)
  • Skiers and Riders must have the ability to navigate green and blue terrain and load and unload the chairlift independently and pull down and push up the safety bar without assistance.
  • Included with Membership in BridgeBusters, BoardBusters, Extreme Team, and GateBusters Groups.
  • Includes All-Mountain lift ticket if purchased separate from other programs
  • For participants who do not get this camp included with their program, tuition: $175.

BridgeBuster Races

There are two races that are offered as a part of our BridgeBuster program. These races are designed to introduce children to racing using terrain, gates, and environment that will allow them to excel using their developing skill sets. All children that are a part of our BridgeBuster program are welcome to attend.

  • Mid Season Race: Saturday, January 28, 2017 – North Area
  • Family Fun Race & Picnic: Saturday, March 4, 2017 – North Area
  • Registration for both races starts at 8:30am in the North Lodge
  • Start time for both races is at 10:00am in the Slalom Race Hill in North
  • Practice Runs will be available for Children and Parents on either Slalom or Exhibition
  • Awards follow both races at approximately 12:00pm in front of the Race Finish
  • Children whose BridgeBuster class is normally scheduled during race time are welcome to stay for their lesson at the afternoon BridgeBuster Session (1:30pm)
  • Parents should be prepared to race with their child during the final race of the Season (Family Fun Race – March 4, 2017)
  • Racers and Parents of Racers are invited to our end of season picnic at the top of Exhibition immediately following our Final Race in March

All Children’s lessons and programs are held at the North Area weather permitting.  Please check the website for area changes for all Children’s programs.
