Snow on the way

Mon, Nov 30th 2009 09:32 am

Sheesh, It is about time. Old Man Winter must be enjoying his time off, kicking back with a Margarita and watching the waves roll in with a surfer girl at his side, not a thought given to the skiers and riders in the East who are so patiently awaiting his return. Well Old Man... The train to winter is leaving the station, put away your speedo and grab your fur coat, it is time to get to work! My Man Don Paul is seldom mistaken and this morning's forecast for the week ahead will demand that Mr. Winter pick up the pace!

11/30/09 morning forecast for the week ahead...

a few wet snowflakes may mix in and with temperatures expected to drop through the 30s on Monday precip will likely stay as snow through midday especially in areas S & E.  We are watching an East Coast storm on Thursday and a possible significant Lake Effect snow event for Friday. Stay tuned...

While the temps do not look good for snowmaking op.s to begin through mid week a combination of lower humidity and temps may be forming and the crew is on call, ready to fire up the new system just as soon as possible.

Looking a the office calendar on the wall in front of my desk I see the Man has put in Dec. 12th as his predicted opening day. I am putting in for Thursday the 11th. Well, actually I put in for Nov. 27th, but I an eternally optimistic. Anyway... hope your holiday was as wonderful as mine, spent at home with my family wishing for snow! See you on the slopes soon.
