Kissing Bridge increases snowmaking production up 58% with the addition of 200hp and a high efficiency automated Ratnik Industriesengineered system. A new FloWay pump rated at a whooping 200hp will be added to the fleet of 4 units in placed last season. This pump will be equipped with a Variable Frequency Drive unit from Ratnik rated at 200hp and an Automated Control System. The existing pumps are being re-engineered to operate under an automated system as well, eliminating by pass valving and the waste associated with such a by pass. The combined system of automated pumps will put out over 2,500 GPM @ 425 PSI. This much outflow is allowed for the addition last season of 8 more guns and a 12 inch main water line. Tim Wang, the Ratnik engineer overseeing this project has determined that to provide optimal conditions to the snowmaking system at the highest elevations 425 PSI is required. The addition of the new 200hp pump will allow the system to achieve this flow rate even as the temps drop and more guns go online, each running at or near full capacity. What that means is more snow making through the full range of applicable temperatures. More snow in more areas in less time. That my friends, is good news indeed.
