Boarders at KB… a compliment

Out yesterday evening from 4-7 and was enjoying the falling snow and some suspect cheesy tunes on my ipod and beyond that, I was enjoyed watching a few groups of boarders who displayed a here to fore uncommon smoothness while hunting out some natural kickers and terrain features on a powder filled evening. It appears we have some talent lurking on the hill sides of the Glenwood Valley! I see it in the park when open but think that seeing some of the regions best ride on a night when the natural terrain variations showcased their skills was much more entertaining. Good on ya!

  • I have passed that note along to Peter Calleri, KB marketing director and asked for details pertaining to the contest. I will post the details concerning start date, last day to submit, judging criteria, prizes etc. Thanks.

  • Just an idea…for the snow report, you should have an extra box on each slope for whether or not there is snow making.

On a side note, do you have plans to have the South Area open by January?

    Thanks!

  • Once we have slopes open that Don’t have guns poised to fire I will try to do that. This time of the season we are blowing snow whenever and wherever possible! The park should see a huge snow making operation starting as early as this weekend, I hope! South is close, the storm passed by about 3pm and left perhaps 5 inches, another overhyped event but better than a sharp stick in the eye for sure. El Presidente says he walked the southern slopes yesterday and they do not need much to be open with “thin and variable conditins” North cross overs look like they will open allowing one to ski to north, but only Slalom and dream are likely to open Saturday, the Childrens programs and racers will be over thier so look out for the kiddos if you could. More features are being added to the temp. terrain park going into the weekend, not sure what exactly. Video contest details are up on the web under the Programs menu tab. in short, send you-tube non-embedded video links to me at andym@kbemail.com to submit your work. Gotta go put new sneakers on my rig. Aloha.

Do you have any moguls on Twister yet?

Has both the Holly Triple and Holly Quad been open?

Are you guys planning on leaving Mistletoe natural?

    Mistletoe 1/2 moguls?

    Thanks!

  • There really isn’t any difficult terrain at KB. But head down south shuttle to get to south, go down the botton half of twinkle. Go to the lift, when your at the top of the south area follow the signs to snowball. It’s probably the easiest hill, you can’t really pick up that much speed.
